There are some definite skills they can learn now to help improve their worth and vitality as we move to cloud databases. These include improving NoSQL database usage and skills, get a handle on capacity planning as it relates to on-demand usage costs, learning how to partition databases and efficiently distribute data, monitoring is always needed, and data migration/hybrid solutions.
