Membase, Inc, has released their first generally available release of Membase Server, the database behind some very demanding interactive web applications. Membase is optimized for storing data and scaling out the data management model for interactive web applications.

"As longtime users of Memcached, our team was excited about Membase as the logical next-step in data management, giving us a highly elastic database for scaling our user-tracking system while maintaining the simplicity and speed we've come to rely on with Memcached," said Manu Mukerji, Architect ShareThis, the world's largest sharing network reaching over 400 million users on 850,000 sites.
