Oracle DBA Headed to Jail and to Pay $100,000 in Restitution

DBAs, some of the closest individuals to corporate data, get a wakeup call on malicious attempts against their companies.

We all hear of insider threat but seeing the outcome when someone gets caught often eludes the general public. Now, in a recent ruling, Steven Jinwoo Kim of Houston has pleaded guilty to not only issuing malicious commands against an Oracle database but also copying and saving sensitive information. For his not so bright actions, Kim will serve one year in prison and pay $100,000 in restitution to GEXA Energy.
