Oracle Releases MySQL 5.5 Beta

MySQL storage engine is switched to InnoDB which is also owned by Oracle.

Oracle has just released the MySQL 5.5 beta, and one of the biggest changes is the switch from MyISam as the default storage engine to InnoDB, which is owned by Oracle. MyISam will continue to be supported and customers will have the choice of using it, however.
