Oracle Releases Patch for Critical WebLogic Server Flaw

Thursday Feb 11th 2010 by DatabaseJournal.com Staff

Oracle releases patch outside of normal critical patch updates (CPU) to fix server flaw.

Contrary to its usual procedure of releasing critical patch updates every three months, Oracle has now released a patch for a critical flaw in the Node Manager component of Oracle WebLogic Server.

According to the Oracle advisory, the Windows versions of WebLogic Server 9.0, and later, have a maximum Common Vulnerability Scoring System score of 10, while Linux and Unix versions scored lower. Customers are advised to apply the patch immediately, along with others from January 2010 and earlier since Oracle patches are cumulative at sub-component level.
