More signs of the tide turning this week as big league players queued up to catch the open source wave. With players like Sun and Oracle both trumpeting the virtues of open source, one has to wonder whether Microsoft is starting to feel awfully alone out there. The big news of the week was Oracle's acquisition of Sleepycat Software. Sleepycat makes the open source database Berkeley DB, which has proven quite popular in the embedded and device market. Into the maw of the corporate tiger goes little Sleepycat.
