Sybase to bundle database with IBM OpenPower Servers

Sybase, a provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, has broadened its relationship with IBM to help joint customers migrate to Linux for improved data management and business analytics.

According to Alan Cowley, CEO of Sybase SA, under the terms of the agreement Sybase and IBM will bundle IBM OpenPower hardware with Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) Express Edition for Linux - said to be the first enterprise-class commercial database that enables users to develop and deploy projects on Linux for maximum performance and manageability.
