It's doubtful that devices running Palm OS or Pocket PC would contribute much to a distributed computing grid. But Oracle has applied some of its grid technologies to Oracle Database Lite 1Og, released in January, and claims to improve reliability of mobile applications. The environment for Java and C/C++ also supports database access via ADO.NET.
