FileMaker Launches Mobile Database

Users of FileMaker's database software can now export and import information to and from handheld devices using a new version of the application, FileMaker Mobile 2.1, which ships this week.

Users of FileMaker's database software can now export and import information to and from handheld devices, and enter data from bar code scans, using a new version of the application, shipping this week.

The program, FileMaker Mobile 2.1, will work with both FileMaker Pro 5.5 v2 and the recently-released FileMaker Pro 6. It lets users transfer and synchronize the information on their desktop databases with Palm OS or Pocket PC 2002 products, according to FileMaker representatives. FileMaker Mobile 2.1 will be priced at $49, the company said.
