Microsoft is seeking testers to evaluate SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 before it's released it to the public. Registered and active members of the beta program will also be given early preview access to 'Yukon', the next major milestone in the evolution of SQL Server.

Microsoft is seeking testers to evaluate SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 before it's released it to the public. Registered and active members of the beta program will also be given early preview access to "Yukon", the "next major milestone in the evolution of SQL Server."

You can apply now at the Microsoft SQL Server Beta site to download the SP-2 release, receive access to private newsgroups and chat sessions that cover topics such as SQL Server tools and query optimization, have updates on reported bugs sent to you, and get an early look at improvements made to SQL Server 2000.

Whereas Yukon, the codename for the next major release of SQL Server, will offer critical new features such as load balancing to dramatically increase database performance and reduce network bottlenecks, Service Pack 2 for SQL Server 2000 does not introduce any new features but does include a number of important bug fixes.
