IBM has launched a tool to help migrate Sybase customers to IBM DB2.

In an attempt to ease the burden of migrating from Sybase to IBM DB2, IBM has launched a tool, SQL Skin, to help companies migrate from Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise to DB2. IBM has also claimed that many companies have already moved from Oracle to DB2, with the Sybase acquisition many more will follow, and SQL Skin will make it just that much easier for the migration.

Said Bernie Spang, director of product strategy at IBM, "We developed the SQL Skin on the back of customer requests for a tool of this nature, and during the development we had some beta testing of the product going on too. We are hearing a lot of positive feedback since the announcement,"
