Database Management Company Ingres Partners with OpTech to Bring Open Source to Government Agencies

The database management company Ingres, along with technology and consulting company OpTech will bring open source solutions to government.

In a strategic move, Ingres and OpTech will be forming a strategic reseller agreement that will be bringing open source solutions to government agencies. OpTech will, as part of the relationship, be promoting, pushing, and encouraging migration to the open source Ingres database in favor of other databases such as Oracle and Sybase.

Said Ronia Kruse, CEO, OpTech:

”We are pleased to join forces with Ingres, the only open-source DBMS for mission-critical application recommended by Gartner, to offer governments a low cost and high performance alternative to proprietary software,”
